Panasonic Cordless Iron Review

I get a lot of review offers and I usually turn them down. But, when I got an email about trying the new Panasonic 360 Degree Freestyle Cordless Iron, I knew I needed to get my hands on one. First of all, anything with “cordless” in the title has me intrigued. I have had a cordless glue gun for years and friends, it’s life changing.

When I opened the box I was already excited with the look, it’s a pretty little thing. It comes with this case that locks when not in use.

The cordless part is genius! When you are done, the cord is retractable and all fits nicely in the case. The base of the iron plugs in when in use but the iron itself comes off of the base each time you use it.

Plug the iron in and get the heat settings just right, then press a small button on the side and the “water container” slides right off so you can take just that part to your sink. Then you just slide it right back in to place and you are ready to go.

This next thing is my favorite part. Any good sewist knows that ironing is the key to a professional looking piece! That said, I have no idea why I have been using a ten year old, $12 iron with dark stains. The iron plate itself… I am in love. It’s stainless and so smooth and I feel like a professional :)  I will put it on the record (just in case my husband reads this) I only use irons for sewing and crafts… I don’t actually iron clothing. I’m sure this Iron would be amazing for that but I don’t ever do it haha.

The only thing I don’t love is that the iron shuts off after a certain amount of idle time. I like the safety factor but when I lock myself in my craft room in the wee hours of the night I am usually sewing for a very long time. So, I found myself coming back to the iron to press a seam but it had already turned off. Thankfully it doesn’t take long for it to heat up again.

I definitely give it two thumbs up! Does anyone else use a stainless iron? I feel like I’ve moved in to a whole new world over here! Iron is available at Walmart… Thanks Panasonic :)
